Bio Shock aftermath
Great event guys. It had everything, storyline, scavenger hunt, costumes, drunks and of course airsofting. I have to admit though, what made my night was Link's acting. Let me be first to nominate Dr.Link for an Oscar. The only negative on the night for me was Colonel Torque escaping but since he's still on the loose...do I smell a sequel?

Re: Bioshock Event History and AAR
Really, you are too kind. I'd like to thank each and every one of my civilians, especially my squad leaders. Everyone who took the character they had and made him real - all you grocery store guys (workers and shoppers), Rowdy bar crowd, right down to the church goers, THANK YOU! Your involvment in the story and characters within the store made the event what it was. We simply set the stage, you all played the parts and made it what it was. Everyone who wasn't a civilian, thanks go to you as well. I can't say much for what you guys were up to because I barely saw anything outside the village (except the Decon tent - sweet!).
And know this: Colonel Torque may have escaped saturday night, but there's no telling how long he can run. It's only a matter of time...

Re: Bioshock Event History and AAR
Bioshock Declassified
Backstory:
It was only a few years ago when the General commissioned Colonel Torque to develop the Bio Toxin BTX 181008. With the Army scientists assigned to the project, he developed the toxin to be a highly contagious disease that could either be spread via close-range airborne contamination or through skin-to-skin contact. The initial phase of the disease has no symptoms, but is still quite communicable. The second phase shows various symptoms, but the third phase leads to insanity and eventually spontaneous human combustion.
Colonel Torque and his science team also developed an antidote and procedures to decontaminate anyone with contact to the toxin. The infection requires up to a few hours to take hold on a human, so decontamination can be a great help in keeping people near infected populace clean. The later the phase of infection, however, the faster the spread goes and the more difficult it is to decontaminate.
One man close to the colonel was Lt Colonel Mavrick, his friend. While he was not involved directly in the development of the toxin, he was working on a delivery system for the toxin: some way to transport the small containers great distances without being tracked. The delivery system decided upon was an Air Force unmanned Drone, modified with self-destruct capabilities to hide the evidence from the targeted populace. Some weeks before the test run of the toxin, the Lt Colonel discovered the target for the test: Hamersville, Ohio. A small town located in the heart of the USA.
Lt Colonel Mavrick was not about to unleash a deadly, highly contagious disease on his fellow countrymen. When he told the Colonel of his refusal to launch his drone to target an American town, the Colonel gave him an ultimatum: launch the drone as planned or get out of his way. The Lt Colonel left the Army and went AWOL to prevent exposing his mentor as a terrorist to the world. Colonel Torque took the opportunity to call Mavrick the terrorist, and proceeded as planned.
The plan was, as per the General’s orders, to test the effectiveness of the toxin in a less ‘controlled’ environment compared to the rat studies they’d been using. It was necessary to see not only the effective radius of releasing the toxin, but also the ability to contain it. There was also concern about the progression of the disease in vivo, whether it would take the same course of traveling through all three phases in sequence in the same amount of time as the preliminary trials, so blood samples from the populace were needed, and preferably from each phase. The release in a small Midwestern town would also serve as a political platform to fight terrorists. The current political leaders would prove their effectiveness and decisiveness as they handled the situation as if they knew it was coming. All they needed was someone else to blame.
Using Ex Lt Colonel Mavrick as his scapegoat, Colonel Torque had his personal Security Team launch the loaded drone to the town of Hamersville as planned. However, Mavrick was ready with his own small band of ex-military and shot the drone down with a shoulder mounted rocket launcher. While the drone was on its way down, though, the canisters were deployed and the toxin was released into the town anyway.
The Colonel proceeded to shut off the town from the rest of the world, killing communications and rerouting all traffic, preventing any news of the incident from leaving town and killing those who might try to spread word. Leading his personal security team in conjunction with a standard infantry force who took orders from their Lieutenant, Colonel Torque moved in to Quarantine the town and observe the effects of his creation. Leaving Lt Jimbo and his men to do the grunt work of maintaining quarantine, the Colonel planned to deploy a device to erase the toxin, the infected population, and the town altogether. What he did not count on, however, was how effective his old friend would be in the field.
Operation: Bioshock
AAR
1900 hrs: The operation began when the military, having just dropped off most of their supplies at the supply depot, secured an area just outside of town for use as a decontamination zone and chemical storage facility. Once secured, the colonel and his Security Team proceeded to enter the town and search for weapons. While this search appeared overly-intimidating to the civilians, it did not prevent a group of rowdy drunkards from looting the grocery store for food and drinks. When one of the looters was shot dead by a soldier, the riot began. In a surge of panic, a crowd of civilians broke into the local gun shop and armed themselves, losing more lives on the way, but ultimately driving the Army soldiers out of town to their quarantine border.
The shadow terrorists (aka freedom fighters), led by Lt Colonel Mavrick, watched from the cover of shadows in the woods near the town. They discovered the Air Force drone and, as per their goals, photographed the device to provide evidence of Colonel Torque’s responsibility for the outbreak.
The soldiers left the town after sustaining some casualties and locked down the bridge out of town. The security team, leaving the grunts to provide quarantine protection, went on to prepare for their ultimate objective, ‘project last resort’, which was a short range ballistic missile to be used to destroy the exposed population and all evidence against the colonel’s involvement. The soldiers were en route to secure these pieces when they were ambushed by the shadow terrorists, who photographed the cargo without capturing it.
The civilians were assisting the town doctor in discovering the source of the outbreak as well as the spread radius by obtaining creek water samples, soil samples, and air sample (from any of 3 NOAA weather stations). In the process of retrieving the samples, some of the civilians discovered 1 liter sized canisters of a green, glowing substance labeled with a biological hazard symbol, lot number, and identification pointing to the United States Defense Department. These canisters were soon identified as the source of the outbreak.
2000 hrs: Having been thwarted in their attempts at retrieving the SRBM pieces needed for Project Last Resort, parts of the military took it upon themselves to attack the civilians in the village, instigating further uproar from the population. The power to the DeCon facility, however, gave out and fuel was needed to restart the generators.
The civilians soon discovered the food in the town was contaminated, driving at least one civilian to phase 3 of the disease which ultimately led to his being put out of his misery by the DeCon specialists. Food was needed, however, and while the contamination was being discovered, the shadow team was busy acquiring a case of military MRE’s. To establish contact with the civilians, however, the shadows needed bio protection. Arriving at the DeCon facility, they made a deal to retrieve the necessary fuel for the generators in return for bio masks. Taking the MRE’s to the civilians, they exchanged the food for the fuel needed for the generator. The Lt Colonel also described in some detail the true nature of the military’s involvement to the civilians, replacing a military morale message being played with his own message – that the military is behind the outbreak and that they are not to be trusted.
Shortly after returning with the fuel and leaving an uneasy tension between Colonel Torque and Lt Colonel Mavrick, civilians were approached by the Decontamination Specialists. The civilians discovered an antidote for the disease did, in fact, exist, and that the pieces of it were available in the Army’s supplies. Before details could be described, however, an assault from more soldiers impeded the progress as they raided the town for all the available fuel in town.
2100 hrs: Having just been given hope that survival of the outbreak was possible, the civilians were tasked with finding the pieces as well as the information on how to assemble it. Before anyone was able to look for the pieces, however, a group of Lt Jimbo’s men apprehended the doctor and brought him to the DeCon facility. The Lieutenant was on orders from the Colonel to detain and interrogate the doctor, but what he found was more troubling than anything he had heard or seen that night. With the labeled bio toxin containers as evidence, Lieutenant Jimbo and his men approached the colonel with question for the first time in their careers.
Colonel Torque would not deny the allegations against him, so the Lieutenant did what he knew was right and left the colonel’s command with one squad of men who agreed the mission was immoral. They joined forces with the civilians and shadow terrorists and began searching for the antidote.
2200 hrs: After a fierce fight in the village, a group of soldiers were eliminated after obliterating a large portion of the civilian population in the town. Soon, however, the DeCon facility was secured by the civilians and Rogue Grunts and the pieces of the antidote were brought back to the hospital. More intel was needed, however, before the antidote could be properly assembled. With help from both the shadow terrorists and the Rogue Grunts, all the necessary intel was gathered for the formulation. Soon, each and every civilian was treated and cured.
In the midst of another supply convoy, Security team forces were under attack by civilians outside of quarantine. While the civilians retreated back to the village, they took with them all they could hang on to, including pieces of the project last resort. Upon arriving back at town with their spoils, they were informed of the need to defend the pieces of the project from being assembled and that the Colonel was to be detained in the town hall if possible. The Shadow Terrorists were already searching for the Colonel, but were unable to locate him.
2300 hrs: While the Shadows searched for the Colonel, it was the civilians who found him and returned him to the town hall to be detained. The shadow terrorists returned to keep their prisoner secure, and did so for the necessary 15 minutes to acquire a confession. Along with the bodies of a dead news reporter and cameraman and the tape witnessing the entire murder, the Lt Colonel had more than enough evidence against the colonel and his men to bring to the attention of the federal courts.
Soon after the confession, however, the assault came from the Colonel’s loyal followers from the North, only to be the distraction from the rescue by his medical team from the south who silently slipped into town, stealthily killed the colonel’s guard, and extracted him back to the darkness of the woods. The medical team that was so efficient in obtaining each phase of the disease in live test subjects proved just as effective in rescuing their leader in the darkness.
0000 hrs: The civilians were cured of the disease and survived the night. The Shadow Terrorists accumulated enough evidence to support their charges against Colonel Torque. The Security team was unable to destroy that evidence, but the Medical team was able to fully document the effectiveness of the toxin in the real-time experiment and the Grunts were able to keep the innocent lives from being massacred entirely. Although the Colonel escaped alive, his road ahead of him will be more difficult than any path he has traveled thus far: the road of revenge.

Ray shot film a good portion of the night, and Brad had his camera on hand. I know because I was in a few photos at the DECON or tank. They will put them up in good time.
However, I would like to see the ASL guys on here or in a photobucket if anyone would mind doing so.

Yeah...I snuck one in of Mav's "good" side. Lest I think that's a good side...yeah, I would have taken more pics but my camera lens got dirty and the flash would focus on the specs of dirty rather than the thing I wanted to take a pic of. Anyway...I'm still amazed at how well that OP went. More or less epic.
