Knob Creek Oct 8,9,10

Hello S.P.E.A.R.!

I'm trying to see if there is any interest from any of you guys to attened the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot? If you are unfamiliar with this event ... it is really something to see.

I've never been and always wanted to go because you can rent fully automatic submachine guns and assult rilfes to shoot at the range.

This sounds like a blast. My boss keeps telling me I need to check this out, but the dates never work out. I'd like to try to go this time.

That would be fun. I know Fenton goes down each year.

Since there is some interest, I'll try to find out some more details about the show including cost of rentals and a schedule of events.

I'll keep you updated as I find out additional information.

Rentals can be between $20 and $500.

They offer anything from Automatic pistol's to dual MG42's to GE mini-gun's to flamethrower's to howitzer's.

They also have helicopter rides and a raffle for one person to fire an M60 out of a Huey, trying to hit a 50gal drum filled with explosives and flammable materials.

The event changes every year, but the night shoot (Saturday night) is the money (shot).

Get there early, plan for all day, bring comfortable shoes, bring water (they have food and drink, but will ultimatley be more $$$), and a hat and sun block...and ear plugs.
Watch the weather too, it has been VERY muddy some years.

I've been going for the last 10 years, then again, I live down the road from it (its actually off the same road as the entrance to Irene)

That is f@#$ing awesome. I am really tempted, but it all depends on how my school schedule looks.
